ISCAR has introduced the NEODO S890 family of 90-degree indexable face mills for roughing and semi-finishing operations.
The mills typically hold square, double-sided inserts with eight cutting edges. The tool performs face and square shoulder milling and provides an option for milling close to shoulders where there is workpiece or workholding fixture constraints.
A round, double-sided insert also now is available. The combination of the tool’s pocket design and the peripheral shape of the insert provides reliable insert clamping and fail-proof insert indexing, the company states.
Depending on the DOC, up to six insert indexes on each side (12 indexes total) can be applied. When indexing, there is no need to remove the insert clamping screw.

Walter has selected the D4120 and D3120 for use with the equally tough and wear-resistant Tiger·tec® Gold coated inserts. Users requiring high precision when drilling should select the D4120 while the D3120 is considered to be particularly economical and easy to use because it only requires one type of indexable insert.
